My social media profile

These are the questions in TEST 2

Facebook post

Questions:

1. What media message am I constructing/sharing/liking?

I’m sharing an inspirational picture to motivate other people. I posted this because every morning I have a short devotion and this is the message that I read in my devotional book that’s why I share it on facebook to motivate other people.

2. What is the purpose of my message?

The purpose of my message is to inspire other people to put God first before you do your job because in my personal experience when I put God first before my studies, everything becomes smooth and easy knowing that He’s guiding you in everything you do and he will bless the things that you’ll do.

3. What am I promoting? Whose voice am I amplifying and whose voices am I muting?

I’m promoting the effectiveness of putting God first before all the things that you need to do. I’m muting the voices of the people who don’t have time for God and they’re so caught up with their jobs because in reality, everything that we do here on earth will fade, all the trophies and medals, the recognition of being the best in class are all temporal.

4. Have I given the construction and dissemination of this message judicious and careful thought? Or was it due to the heat of the moment?

I have given this message with a careful thought because I’m just sharing an inspirational message

5. Will the media messages that I have constructed and dissemination possibly harm anyone or myself?

I think this facebook post of mine won’t harm anyone because it’s just message to motivate people.

6. What values am I promoting or censuring?

I’m promoting the values that the Bible taught us that we should put Him first in order for us to be successful. “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you”.

Questions:

1. What media message am I constructing/sharing/liking?

I’m sharing about a picture of myself singing for God even though I’m not really good in singing, because all that matters for Him is our heart of worship.

2. What is the purpose of my message?

The purpose of this message is to inspire people again because I like sharing some good message and stuffs to inspire people in the same way that God inspired me.

3. What am I promoting? Whose voice am I amplifying and whose voices am I muting?

I’m not promoting myself here nor my electric guitar but I’m promoting the right attitude on how to sing for God and not to just sing for fame or “pogi points” because even though I’m good in singing I will never become pogi.

4. Have I given the construction and dissemination of this message judicious and careful thought? Or was it due to the heat of the moment?

I have given this message in a careful thought because at this moment I just like to share something about what really singing for God means.

5. Will the media messages that I have constructed and dissemination possibly harm anyone or myself?

No, because this message is just for inspiring people and not to harm them.

6. What values am I promoting or censuring?

I’m promoting how a worship leader’s mentality should be, because singing for God it’s not about how good you are in hitting the high notes but it’s all about being a blessing to the people and leading them in genuine worship for the one and living God.

Questions:

1. What media message am I constructing/sharing/liking?

I’m sharing a sermon from one of my favorite pastor in the U.S. because I’m so moved with his preaching.

2. What is the purpose of my message?

The purpose of this message is to make people use music the way it was originally designed for and that is to worship Jesus.

3. What am I promoting? Whose voice am I amplifying and whose voices am I muting?

Image result for earbuds gif                I am promoting that we should be careful on what we allow our ear buds to listen into. I’m promoting the real purpose of music. I’m muting the voices of people who always listen to worldly music about sin and wander why they can’t stop doing the bad things because they allow the bad music to manifest in their life. There’s more than just listening to music, because God is the one who created it and he designed it for worship, so that means if you’re listening to some bad music about sex and drugs you’re worshiping the devil which makes it easy for him to manifest in their lives.

4. Have I given the construction and dissemination of this message judicious and careful thought? Or was it due to the heat of the moment?

I’ve given this message in a careful thought and not by some heat of the moment or something.

5. Will the media messages that I have constructed and dissemination possibly harm anyone or myself?
Yes, perhaps because some worldly music listeners might misinterpret my message and the people who doesn’t know God personally will possibly be affected or harm

6. What values am I promoting or censuring?

The values that I’m promoting is we should listen to good music about how good God is and not on the bad music that can harm us in the long run.

Inspirational Advertisements

Ponder Questions page 80

Advertisements can play a big role in today's society because almost everywhere there's an advertisement. You can see it in television commercials, in the billboard, newspapers, etc.
Advertising billboard

These kind of media can either convinced you to buy their product or motivate you with some values and lessons that you can learn from these short videos. There are so many inspirational advertisements out there that was made to inspire people and give positive values that is related with their products. Here, we are going to discuss about two advertisements that inspired many people especially women because these advertisements are Dove and Always which is a brand particularly for women.

1. Describe the effect of this approach of advertisement on you.

For me, these advertisements are touching and moving, even though it's for women I liked how they advertise their product with values incorporated with it.

2. Is it better to explicitly state the values that an advertisement is promoting?

Yes, it is better to state the values explicitly without any hidden or manipulative messages, in order for the people to get the values clearly.

3. By explicitly stating the values, did these advertisements mute other values?

For me, yes, because like in the dove commercial they said that everyone is beautiful, others just don't choose to be beautiful because they think that they're just average, but in the end they regret their decision and chose to be beautiful. In this example, they didn't mute the values that the Bible taught us that we are made beautifully according to his plan.

4. How are these advertisements different from the usual soap or hygiene product commercial?

It is different because a usual s

Not all that we can see are true

Original movie

1. How does the trailer of the original movie market itself?

They market the movie by giving some really good reviews from different medias like the TIME Asia and Empire Magazine. They do this kind of market strategy in order for the viewers to find it interesting because when someone makes a good review on a movie, that means it's really nice.

Bollywood version
2. How do the remakes market themselves?

The remakes market the movie like the original one but only they don't have reviews like what the original movie used for marketing.

3. How do the notions of "local" and "global" come into play in these three films and their trailers?

Each film has different translations, and concepts that made them all distinct from each other. The "global" films sounds like the whole world is involved in its making, the actors and the  production teams are firmly rooted in industrialized nations such as the United States, European countries Australia, and Japan, while the "local" films tend to be more focused only on the local cultures thus making them to get less appreciation.

Hollywood version

4. Who do you think are the target audiences of the original and the remakes?

For me, the target audience of the original movie is the Americans because in the trailer they said that "The sensation that swept Asia has come to haunt America" from this, I assumed that the Americans are their target audience. But, in general, I think the target audiences of these movies were young peoples and adults who wants a thrilling horror experience.

5. Do a little bit of research. Which was the most financially successful of the three films?

According to what I've researched, the most successful among the three films was the Hollywood version because I think the Hollywood version has many viewers because it is globally screened, though the original was screened globally also, the Hollywood version overshadowed the original because people might watch it most likely if it comes from hollywood.

The most beautiful love team ever

How was the most beautiful love team (LizQuen) formed?

ABS-CBN's leading love teams

ABS-CBN, I can say that they're good when it comes to love teams. All of their constructed love teams has a chemistry and almost all their love teams has a real romantic relationship that's why the chemistry and the kilig factor is natural.
Kilig feels

LizQuen, Liza (left) Enrique (right)

Lizquen love team, without any doubt has one of the most beautiful faces here in the Philippines. LizQuen is the combined name of Liza Soberano and Enrique "Quen" Gil. Liza Soberano is recently recognized as the top 2 most  beautiful face of the whole world. Thus, making them the most beautiful love team in the Philippines yet. ABS-CBN is the media company who made this epic love team and they're now currently working shooting their 7th project together. There are lot of things that make a successful love team, but mostly, it's just magic. Sometimes you can never really tell when two people will click. In the case of Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano, it was easy for them since they're already friends and has a same handler which is the Star Magic, but there were other factors that bring them together closely which ABS-CBN is good at because like in their television series "Teleserye" Forevermore, this made the LizQuen become closer to each other because they're just  isolated in the mountain taping the series for a couple of months and all that they can socialize with, is with each other which made them to get to know each other more.

One of the reason why LizQuen is such a hit because the chemistry is not forced unlike other love teams. Personally, I really love their chemistry,  not just because I have a crush on Liza, but because they're chemistry is undeniable like their movies, for me, all of their movies were real like it wasn't scripted. I've got caught up with their love team very much to the point that I check their twitter and instagram accounts everyday, but that was before. I changed now, I usually check updates in their account 2 times a week and not everyday. So basically, that's how the LizQuen was formed, the people like them very much because their perfect love team is just very fabulous, some other love teams are "nakakasawa" and easily overshadowed, but their love team is just perfect, you will fall in love with them over and over and you will have more kilig-to-the-bones factor everytime the ABS-CBN release a new movie or Television series about this legendary love team, LIZQUEN.

Ponder question (page 56)

Are the little pigs responsible for murder or not? Which version and whose side of the story have tou heard? What will you do if you find out what really happened? And how will you find out?

For me, they're responsible for the murder of the wolf because the wolf was found in their house and was boiled alive. I heard the side of the pig that they're just protecting or self defensing theirselves from the wolf which attacked their house. If I find out what really happened I will do my duty to bring justice to those who are victimed and I will find it out by gathering more information and I will thoroughly investigate until I find it out.

Inevitable change in technology

 Ponder Questions (page 52)

"Video killed the radio star"

       1. How, according to the song, did "video kill the radio star"? Is this a good thing, as far as the song goes?

Technology is something that is changing from time to time and we can't stop it. The video killed the radio star because a new technology which is the video put an end to the radios, the video killed the radio star because before when there's no videos yet, radios are so famous and almost all people use it but then when the videos came, it put an end of the radio's popularity, thus the video killed the radio star. This isn't a good thing for the radio star because the videos overshadowed  them.

         2. What is the "wireless in '52" referring to?

The "wireless in '52" refers to the radios way back in 1952 that is used wirelessly.

        3. What does the line, "They took the credit for your second symphony, rewritten by machine and new technology," mean?

It means that the television is a better version of the radio and it uses the radio's sound to combine with pictures with motions create a better technology.

          4. What do you think is the music video saying about technology?

The music video meant that new technologies is an innovation of the older technologies and new technologies can put an end to the older ones.

      5. What are the song and the music video saying about the relationship of technology with concepts like art, originality, popular culture, innocence, nostalgia, boredom.

The song is saying that growing technologies can affect the originality of a certain technology like the radio star, because new technology comes from the old technology, the new ones are just an innovation of the old ones. Some technologies copies a certain art form of another technology to build a new technology like the video and the radio star, the videos just copied the sounds that came from the radio and it adds pictures in motion to from a new art.

Innovations and Technology

Ponder Questions (page 33-34)

2. Think of a specific invention in the past (Printing Press)

Printing Press (15th century)
         A. Who benefitted the most when the printing press became a social necessity?

The one who benefitted the most when the printing press became a necessity are the middle and upper classes because most of the writers and authors are in these categories, by this invention the printing of the Bible took place and because of this invention the authors and the writers can saved time from the time consuming "block-printed" which is the technology that they're using while there's no printing press yet.

        B. Who was at the losing end when it became a social necessity?

The ones who can't afford the printing press are at the losing end particularly the lower class people because during this time the printing press is expensive and they think that it's only for the rich people.

     C. Which authority, institution, or investment was threatened when the new invention became necessary?

Perhaps, the one who is selling and using the "block-printer" which is the use of characters and pictures that is carved into a wooden block. They are threatened because the printing press is more easier and not a time consuming technology.

     D. Which authority, institution, or investment was magnified when the new invention became necessary?

Johannes Gutenberg was magnified because he's the one who invented this technology and several print masters that were studying about the movable type.

       E. Who exercised control over the new invention?

Of course the one who exercised control over the printing press was the writers, authors, and  publishing companies.

       F. Who had (no) access to the new invention?

The people who had no access to the printing press were the peasants and the low class people because this time only a small percentage of people who knows how to read and write and most of these are from the low classes.

3. Think of a specific  technology that has not been invented yet, but you feel might benefit the people (Ooho edible water bottle)

Water pouches using Spherification process

         A. Who will be likely champions of this new invention?

The one who will be likely champions and will benefit to this invention are actually all  the people because this water pouches does not only help reduce the use of  water bottles but also it can help reduce the increasing rate of global warming. These water pouches are edible, that means you can drink it all without leaving a single trash that can contribute to the pollution. It takes roughly 450 years to decompose a single water bottle that's why it is so beneficial to us all that we use this water pouches because it can cut the use of plastic waste.

         B. Who will be the likely enemies of this new invention?

The enemies of this invention are most likely the one who manufactures water bottles because they will loose income because people will not buy their water bottles anymore and perhaps they will innovate their product to counter this so called water pouch. Thus, makes them enemies of this invention.

         C. Whose authority, institution, or investment will be enhanced by the new invention?

The inventor Rodrigo Garcia Gonzalez and his research team at Imperial College London will be recognized and will enhanced because people will invest on their product and will produce a game changing innovation that can help slow down the warming of the earth.

         D. Whose authority, institution, or investment will be destroyed by the new invention?

Again, the one who manufactures the water bottle will be destroyed and their income will decrease because most people will choose a planet saving product than their planet warming product. Although, plastic bottles can be recycled, it doesn't mean that all of the plastic bottles will be recycled because like in other countries they don't have a discipline and they're not strict when it comes to recycling materials like these water bottles, so it will still add plastic waste to our earth and it will take 450 yeares to decompose it, Surely, companies who manufacture plastic bottles will be destroyed because people will choose to buy this brilliant invention.

         E. Who will have (no) control over the new invention?

The people who will have no control over this invention would be the people who doesn't have a knowledge about this invention. The people who invented this product will be the only persons who can control it because they have the authority because they're the one who created it.

        F. Who will have (no) access to the new invention?

Perhaps, the people who is in an isolated island and the people who doesn't have money to buy these products because I think when this water pouch hit the market it will be kinda expensive.

5. Can you think of a media technology  that you feel people can in fact live without, but are considered by many to be necessary?

For me, it would be smartphones because personally I don't have a smartphone and I can still live without it. Some people think that without it they can't live, these people are called Nomophobians they simply can't see a world without their phone. Although, smartphones can be very helpful to us by its applications and very useful stuffs that can make our work easy, but it doesn't mean that we can work or be productive without it, because at the end of the day even if you don't have your phone with you, you can still live and work things on your own.
